Ph.D. cl960 at KSU, is on the Engineering Facu lty at KSU, as is her husband, Prof. Eugene Grosh, Ph.D. Cl955, Purdue. Allan Gale Lloyd, M.S. cl959 at Newark Colleg e of Engineering, is in solid state electronics with Phillips Broadcast Equipment Corp., Montvale, N.J. When I visited my parents In Kansas City around 1960 my nother gave me the data on two Mayflower lines (Brewster, Roger s), and I joined the N.J. Mayflower Society In 1965. My Interest in genealofgy did not start until around 1967, however , when a colleague at Bell Labs regaled me with the marvels of the National Archives and the census records, and lent m e his copy of Goodspeeds catalog. I started with my fathers lines; but found three more Mayflower lines on my nother's side (Cooke, Hopkins, Dot y) as soon as I discovered NY Public Library. I've been hard at It ever since. Another colleague left the country In 1969 for a couple of years on business and I took over his job as State Historia n of N.J. Mayflower. When he and his wife came back his wife was elected Treasurer, so I'm still Historian. I enjoy I t very much. I spent so much time at the Branch Library of the Genealogical Society (Salt Lake City) that they made me a nonmember a ssistant librarian, although I am a Unitarian. The Mormon Church is only 1 1/2 mi. from my house; it's an extraordinar y resource. Rightnow have on hand there a dozen reels of Norwegian parish records, and have 7 generatlons (from cl730 ) of my father-in-law's ancestry essentially complete. I've joined NYG&BS, HS of Pa.(Philadelphia), Chester Co. (Pa.) HS, Greene Co. (Pa.) HS, and the Genealogical Society (L ondon) at various times in the course of my research. My favorite famous cousin Is Winston Churchill. Others are presidents Taft, Coolidge, Hoover, Nixon, as well as Van Bur an [also Carter, Bush, Bush].
