ANN LLOYD HART SMALLWOOD (Henry Sr., David)
ANNE LOYD (Lloyd) b.
Died Feb. 24,1814 of Typhus Fever while in the home of her son THOMAS HART III. (a)
Married (1) THOMAS HART Jr., date unknown. He was the son of Thomas Sr. and wife ANN, also called "Nancy". (b) Thoma s Jr. and Anne lived east of JAMES LOYD, and he lived just east of HENRY Sr. James was the son of JOHN LOYD (Lloyd) wh o lived in what isnow Orange Co., Va. and so far as we know was not related to Henry Sr.
Married (2) GEORGE SMALLWOOD whose land was in the same area. George S. made a deed of gift of a negro woman and her f our children, who had belonged to Anne Hart Smallwood. This was done after the death of Anne in 1814. (c) This docume nt reads as follows: "My late wife was the widow of Thomas Hart, deceased, who at the time of her death, lived apart fr om me and had in her possession a negro woman called "Dinah" and her four children,
which negroes perhaps by law now belong to me as I do not wish to concern with same, I am desirous that they descend an d go to such of Ann's children as if she had been a single woman at the time of her death, said Ann's child was marrie d to JOHN DANIELSwho married one of said Ann's children, now all my right and
title is conveyed in said Dinah." (c) George Smallwood deceased by 1817 (j).
THOMAS HART Jr. left a will dated Jan. 11. 1795 and proved Jan. 20, 1795. (d) This instrument names Ann as his wife. T his is no doubt the Ann, daughter of Henry Sr. who was mentioned in the latter's estate settlement papers in Huntingdo n Co. Pa., as married to GEORGE SMALLWOOD. The executors o£ this will were his wife Ann, brother-in-law DANIEL VAN MET ER, and MASON BENNETT. He gave the farm, now called J. Hendricks Daniels Farm, to his wife for her lifetime unless sh e married again, when she should getone third, subject to maintenance, support and education of their children, - whic h suggests that they were young. They were not named.
