Daniel Nehmer was born in 1832 in Germany. He married Fredricke Faber and was the father of Louise, William, Auguste, M aria and Albert. On April 11, 1891, Daniel (age 60) his wife Fredericke (56), son Albert (18) and daughters Auguste (17) and Marie (16 ) left their residence in Casekow, Germany, and sailed from the port of Hamburg, Germany on the German vessel SS Slavon ia for America. They arrived in the port of Baltimore. MD on April 28, 1891 on the ship with 452 adults, 152 children a nd 61 infants (665 persons). The Nehmers brought two pieces of luggage with them. Daniel died at the age of 65 in 1897 and is buried next to his daughter Louise Nehmer Helling in the Christburg Cemeter y, Hwy 18, near Jefferson.
