Was born in Elkhart, Indiana. His family was wealthy. He moved to Fort Atkinson, WI where he worked for Otto Stiehm a t his Creamery.
Later he moved to Milwaukee and lived and lived at 31st and Scott Street. He worked for a foundry near Johnston's Cooki e plant. The children would often take a wagon to the plant to get broken cookies.
In the early '50's, he worked at Dolan's foundry and helped Hank VanDerWal get a job there when Hank had been laid of f from American Motors.
Both got into cement finishing and one of the jobs they worked on was the finishing of Milwaukee County Stadium grandst ands.
After he divorced Louise, he moved to Texas for the weather. He lived there in a trailer park until just before his dea th. |
