HENRY LLOYD Jr. (Henry Sr., David) We do not know when HENRY Jr. was bom, or when he died, but it is said that he died on his farm in Huntingdon Co., Pa . The 1820 census says that he was "over 45" at that time. Married RACHEL DAVIS of Bedford Co., Pa. (a) "A small sawmill, allowed to go into decay near the Southern bounds of Walker Twp..... .....was operated by a man name d DAVIS more than 80 years ago. Traces of the raceway are said to remain." (k) This may have been the father of Rache l. Mr. Floyd Hoenstine, well known genealogist and librarian of Hollidaysburg. Pa. did some searching in Bedford County an d found an ELEAZER DAVIS. He wrote as follows, "The county Court Records at Bedford did not reveal the name of RACHE L DAVIS in any will, Orphans Court or deeds. However, I believe her father was Eleazer Davis who resided in Bedford Tw p. during the Revolutionary War. His name appears in the 1790 census for Bedford Twp. as head of a household consistin g of one adult over 16 (self) and three females." " The assessment records at Bedford list the following in Bedford Twp., spelled Davis or David with given name of Ele a nd Eliozer etc. assessed with occupation only for the years 1777 to 1791. In 1792 he was assessed with one horse, tw o lots and one cow.His name was marked "out" for 1793. His name appears in muster rolls during the Revolutionary War w ith services in the Bedford County Militia, but not listed in the pensioners nor in the D.A.R. membership lists of Revo lutionary ancestors. His name does not appear in the 1810 census index of Pennsylvania. Possibly to Kentucky or Westw ard." "I have examined many Davis wills and biographical sketches but no where is the name Eleizer found except in the Davi s and Lloyd families." In the Lloyd family it is found only among Rachel's descendants, and there are at least six o f those. Mr. LLOYD BROMLEY of Philadelphia found in Africa's History of Huntingdon Co. that among the original members of the Mi ll Creek Baptist Church a few miles southeat of Huntingdon, was Rachel Davis. RACHEL DAVIS b. Parents' names - probably ELEAZER DAVIS and _______. HENRY Jr. "settled on the farm which was afterwards occupied by his son ELEAZER and which is now the home of his grands on, HENRY. He was married to RACHEL DAVIS of Bedford, and reared nine children, viz: DAVID, who lived below McConnelst own, and died in1843. He was the father of JAMES M. LLOYD. JOHN, the second son, removed to Ohio. However, before h e went he saw service in the War of 1812. THOMAS, the third son, lived and died at Huntingdon, while serving as sherif f. One of his daughters became the wife of HENRY J. SWOPE (Swoope). The fourth son HENRY, removed to Cambria County . ABNER resides near Pittsburgh and ELEAZER died on the homestead. His daughters became the wives of WILLIAM STATES of McConnelstown; BENJAMIN ENYEART and ERASMUS JONES of Blair County. " (a) In Huntingdon Co. Courthouse there is a deed from Henry Lloyd and Rachel his wife to ALEXANDER McCONNELL, dated Sept.4 , 1809(b) In the same place there is a deed showing "I, Henry Lloyd the Elder of the Twp of Porter and Rachel...... . my two sons viz.ABNER and ELEAZER LLOYD, minors both of the same place..... Henry Lloyd." Dated March 1, 1820 (d ) Signed Henry Lloyd her Rachel X Lloyd mark This was a deed of Trust, signing his farm over to the two boys, and the Trustee was HUGH LITTLE, (n) Henry Jr. (Ill) was listed in Walker Twp with 112 acres, and Henry Lloyd with 90 acres. 1820 census of Huntingdon Co., Pa.
